Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to Ride?
No, there will be lots to learn and do without riding. During the program you learn on-the-ground work (leading, tacking, grooming, just hanging out) then you can decide if you'd like to ride.
What do I need to wear?
Please wear long pants and hard sole boots or shoes (these are required). No open toe shoes, tennis shoes or crocks allowed. Helmets are required and provided. You may bring your own riding helmet if you have one but no bike helmets.
Is there a weight limit for riding?
200 lbs. is our current weight limit for riding. Horses can only carry 20% of their weight on their back. Our horses work very hard and we must be their advocates. We currently don't have horses to accommodate more than 200 lbs. But there is so much more to the program!
Is there an age limit?
WTTR is for women, 18 years and older. If you are fit enough to mount and dismount then this program is for you. You are never too old! We have a fabulous mounting block (first picture below) which makes mounting more comfortable for horses and riders.
